At Climate Action, we are thrilled to announce our collaboration with the Hungarian Olympic Committee’s Fair Play Committee to create the Sustainability Fair Play Award—an initiative that marks a significant milestone in promoting sustainability within the world of sports.
This new award is the result of a collaborative effort between Olympic champion Jenő Kamuti, Gábor Deregán, Secretary General of the Fair Play Committee, and our team at Climate Action. Together, we have developed this award to set a clear direction for Hungarian sports, emphasizing the importance of sustainability and the role of Fair Play in achieving it.
The Sustainability Fair Play Award is designed to provide guidance for sports organizations, athletes, and stakeholders in Hungary. It encourages them to adopt sustainable practices across various areas of the sports industry, including environmental, social, and economic sustainability. We believe that sustainability in sports is not just an option, but a necessity for creating a future where the sports world thrives responsibly.
The award will be presented annually, with a ceremonial award ceremony highlighting the achievements of those who are committed to making sports more sustainable. As we look ahead to 2025, one of our key goals is to expand this initiative beyond Hungary and to collaborate with international organizations to foster a global movement towards sustainable sports.
